Trapped alone, in stygian dark,
Nobody to help me
My former companions, all dead
Their battered corpses all I can see
My bones are shattered, skin is cut
All I can do is bleed
And wait for sweet oblivion
To embrace me

Fading fast
I hear a voice
Calling out tome
In tones divine,
It offers salvation
A chance to set me free

All I must do is accept its light
Into my heart and soul
It would perform miracles
To free me from this wretched hole

No other choice, I accede
What have I left to lose?

Filled with power and inner strength
I burst through the rocks above
Glorious sunshine beating down
Surely a token of its love

I spy a pool, and stoop to drink
Much to my surprise
My reflection is not my own
I stare into a daemon’s eyes

So my saviour, presumed divine,
Is truly infernal
My aspect changed, so have my needs
Now they are base and bestial

I feast on flesh of innocents
Replacing wine with blood
Filled with an all consuming hatred
Forgotten, thoughts of divine love

Once I was free, now enslaved
Haunting dark corners of this world
Corrupting those of weakened will
Reaping their souls for my dark lord
The trap was baited, set and sprung
I no longer have a choice
Imprisoned within my own flesh
My torment knows no voice
